Strategic Priorities
Jessica Cohen’s first 100 days as Travis County Party Chair will focus on building stronger infrastructure, expanding grassroots energy, and modernizing how our party organizes, communicates, and wins.
These are clear, achievable priorities designed to strengthen our foundation and prepare us for long-term success.
Organizing & Coalition Building
- Collaborative organizing. Working with groups like HOCTX, Indivisible, 50501, ACLU, Equality Texas, Planned Parenthood Texas Votes etc in coordinated fundraising and attacks on the GOP. (501c3 and 501c4 strategies will differ)
- Hire a dedicated Field Director to lead and strengthen the coordinated campaign.
- Plan and organize monthly Democrat fundraising events for grassroots donors. Rotating through each of the cities, towns, villages, and unincorporated communities in the county.
- Begin campaign to convert large single donors to sustaining donors
- Increase party engagement with the public to increase grass roots donations. Year-round in community organizing. Going to where the people are, little League games, PTA meetings, Church.
- Brand promotion - Signs. Signs everywhere. From billboards to digital ads. Fighting democrats. Democrats working for you.
- Precinct chair comprehensive dashboard for real-time tracking of voter interaction and engagement
- Precinct chair metrics, competitions, and awards for most voter contact. Keeping it fun.
- GIS interactive map on the party website to provide information on precinct chairs and super precinct chairs

Change the CEC meeting schedule to:
- 1. Quarterly CEC meetings for major party business like budget amendments, bylaw amendments, rules changes, finance reports. Each meeting to be held in a different location in the compass points of the county. North, South, East, West.
- 2. Monthly CEC social meetings in between the quarterly business meetings for socializing, training, Q&A. Less formal.
- Monetize party social media accounts
- Build a modern social media presence run by a young person to appeal to young people.
- Collaboration with central Texas social media influencers to promote the Democratic Party. Contracts to prevent promotion of any other political party.
- Relationship building with all Central Texas electeds to promote and secure investment in the party
- Central Texas collaboration. Working with the six County Chairs from Central Texas counties in order to expand the "blueberry" outwards bringing in disenfranchised democrats gentrified out of Travis County.
- Register the party as a federal PAC so we can sell merch for federal campaigns
- Start an online merch store so that we can take advantage of current political trends and memes. e.g. FDT memorabilia = $$$
- Democratic clubs quarterly Presidents circle - Meeting of club presidents to share organizing, fundraising, and membership building strategies. Collaborate with the county party on GOTV strategies.
